Responsibilities

The Sr. Reliability Engineering Manager is responsible for the Daifuku-Amazon account, Reliability Engineering program management.  This will include account level vendor and OEM relationship management, network automation equipment reliability management, and Root Cause Analysis and network action project management. This position is also responsible for training new site level Reliability Engineering Managers; monitoring our customer’s CMMS for equipment failure trends; further developing our organization’s predictive maintenance program, and working to mitigate waste through the elimination of unnecessary maintenance.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Demonstrated ability to dive deep using Root Cause Analysis to eliminate maintenance problems.
  • Provide input and execute standard operational procedures
  • Manage Operational relationships with fulfillment support teams and internal operations business partners.
  • Manage vendor relationships and establish yourself as a primary business contact for key suppliers throughout the network.
  • Reviews subcontractors' proposals for reliability program and submits evaluation for decision.
  • Identify network savings opportunities, better partnerships to leverage industry best practices, creating greater efficiencies through partnerships and technology innovations, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to indirectly influence external service providers to successful outcomes
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies for each network vendor partner
  • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills and ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases
  • Ability to clearly communicate data insights to others and execute positive change
  • Analyzes preliminary plans and develops reliability engineering program to achieve customer reliability objectives.
  • Analyzes projected product utilization and calculates cumulative effect on final system reliability of individual part reliabilities.
  • Drafts failure mode and effect analysis sheets or formulates mathematical models, using computer-aided engineering equipment, to identify units posing excessive failure risks and support proposed changes in design.
  • Enters data to simulate electrical inputs, transient conditions, temperature, stress, and other factors to develop computer models, and analyzes and adjusts design to predict and improve system reliability.
  • Advises and confers with engineers in design review meetings to give reliability findings and recommendations.
  • Reviews engineering specifications and drawings, proposing design modifications to improve reliability within cost and other performance requirements.
  • Monitors failure data generated by customer using product to ascertain potential requirement for product improvement.
  • Committed to learning and expanding professional and technical knowledge
  • Leading Reliability Engineers for all businesses across all locations


Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • 8+ years’ experience in the distribution or manufacturing field with equivalent experience in the mechanical or electrical field and 4+ years of experience in a management role
  • A completed Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) from an accredited university
  • Proven experience managing direct and indirect employees at the management level.
  • Ability to travel to various sites throughout North America.
  • Experience in the following areas:
    • Automated conveyors systems and controls
    • Electrical and electronic principles
    • Blueprint and electrical schematic reading
    • CMMS programs
    • Preventive maintenance procedures
    • Industrial electrical
    • Industrial controls
    • Industrial electronics
    • Industrial PC literary
    • N.E.C.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA or graduate level degree preferred.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a partnership and communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally with Safety, Operations, Engineering, Sr. Management, peers, contractors and vendors
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize many different projects

Computer Skills: Basic computer knowledge, at an intermediate level in working with Microsoft Windows to include: Outlook, Word, and Excel.
