Position Summary:

The Launch Safety Manager is responsible for initiating and embedding the desired safety culture in the building.  This role goes beyond basic training by providing specialized training in key safety areas, skills qualifications and site set-up conducive to a safe work place.

Essential Functions:

  • Implement and validate that all key program elements are understood universally and a safety culture has been born.
  • Coordinate Arc Flash survey, labeling and in-person training (by vendor)
  • Coordinate and implement LOTO placarding
  • Verify site has received appropriate quantities of all PPE, manage storage/5S of PPE and ensure all relevant policies are implemented
  • Coordinate installation of LOTO stations, including forms, lock colors, devices and procedures
  • Manage training including:
    • Schedule PIT/Aerial lift Trainer training (2 onsite people to be certified)
    • Schedule First/CPR training
    • Multiple operational elements
    • Job Qualification Standards – verify understanding of key safety principles (from “key 17” qualified worker training)
    • LOTO observations
    • Electrical safe-work verification
    • Behavior-based Safety Training Modules
  • Maintain all posters, tear sheets, collateral material to ensure branding and program visibility deployment
  • Identify hazardous conditions and Identify potential hazards in existing equipment, machinery, facilities, or processes.  Develop methods to predict hazards from experience, historical data, and other information sources
  • Document safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures and recommending corrective procedures. Makes recommendations on appropriate PPE and safety equipment inventory at sites
  • Perform safety Recognize and reinforce positive behaviors.  Counsel employees that do not meet expectations to ensure that they understand the importance of working safely
  • Order suspension of activities that pose threats to workers health and safety
  • Employee will perform any and all other relevant duties assigned to this position by the responsible manager
  • Maintain positive customer and employee relations.



  • Team member must be able to work in a team oriented and safety conscious “Safety First” expectations include, but are not limited to, PJHA process, Observation process, and compliance with all company / site safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Possess a high school degree or approved GED
  • OSHA 30-hour Contractor Safety Course completion and/or OSHA 30-hour General Industry Safety Course.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working win an industrial maintenance or construction field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.


  • Associate’s degree in Safety Management is preferred.
